The project
KRM Kunststoff-Recycling-Maschinen GmbH at Mitte 68, 9125 Kühnsdorf is investing in adapting its infrastructure and in shredding and extrusion lines. Two production lines turn out high-quality plastic regranulates made from PE, PP and PS.
The input is clean, single-variety plastics. There is no sorting or washing in production.
According to the project announcement of 27 April 2022, KRM is investing almost 3.4 million euros in new shredding and extrusion lines and the necessary conversion work. Ten additional employees work in this business area. Mainly pre-sorted and cleaned production waste from Austria and Europe is processed.
Why
The EU circular economy requires significantly higher recycling rates and mandatory use of recyclate in plastics production. The project creates the capacity for this in Carinthia.
